Crafty Wonderland Winter Holiday Market December 10th and 11th in Portland Oregon

It’s back! The Crafty Wonderland Winter Holiday Market returns to the Oregon Convention Center again this year. Panda With Cookie is so happy to be back. The market takes place on Saturday and Sunday, December 10th and 11th, from 11 am to 6 pm. There is a special ticket only event on Friday night from 5 to 9 pm so you can come in and shop without the crowds. Tickets are on sale now!

Get there early to get in line and hope to get one of their great crafty swag bags that go to the first 150 people on both Saturday and Sunday. Look for the Panda With Cookie ornaments! Stop by and say hello! I’ll have my new plush kangaroos and sharks as well as old favorites such as my cat ornaments. New this year will be a small selection of dog ornaments as well! It’s the biggest holiday market in town so don’t miss it!

Kangaroo Plush Hops Into the Spotlight

Panda With Cookie headquarters has been busy in the past few months working on new products and patterns. I am quite pleased to present my new kangaroo plush toy, now available on the Panda With Cookie website.

Standing just over a foot tall, this kangaroo is sewn from soft anti pilling fleece in a rich chocolate brown with white belly and pouch. The pouch opens and has room to stash a cookie or some extra chess pieces. Kangaroo plush are known for their strategic game abilities.

This is the most difficult pattern I’ve had to make to date and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. I worked on it over the course of a week. The bulk came together in the first day but little adjustments were made as trial roos came out with pouches that were too small or hind legs that didn’t quite sit right.

This roo is available with or without a pirate patch. Catch him at some upcoming shows in the Portland, OR, area for color variations including tan and cream. We’ll be at the St. John’s Bizarre on May 14, 2016, from 10-6.

Tofu Pirate Plush Makes a Perfect Vegetarian or Vegan Gift

Is it a marshmallow? Is it a ghost block? No, it’s the tofu pirate plush, an excellent choice for all your vegan gift needs!

The tofu pirate is one of the products I’ve been making the longest and even if she isn’t a top seller I love having her around.

I originally thought of this plush as a more niche product but have learned over the years that lots of people love the tofu pirate, especially kids. When I do craft shows, this unassuming white block draws lots of people to my booth who really love seeing tofu represented. You’ll frequently hear someone saying to their friend “Guess what this is? It’s TOFU!”

When I did the Vegan Beer and Food Fest in Portland, Oregon this past fall, she was a huge hit. That Dang Vegan and The Hungry Taurus both did nice write ups that mention the tofu pirate and some of the adventures they’ve had together.

Monster Plush Are Back

Monster plush are back in my shop starting today!

I spent the past week sewing, finishing, and photographing my original and much loved monster plush. There are a couple up for sale on the website now and more will be listed over the next week.

Monster plush are sewn from either super soft fleece or textured corduroy. Each face is handsewn so each monster has a unique personality. All Panda With Cookie plush are sewn to be gender neutral kids toys that are meant to be enjoyed by all ages. They arrive to you ready for adventure!

Halloween Plush Toys Return for 2014

Halloween plush are back! The vegan candy corn and wee ghost pirate debut in my shop today. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday and I love sewing these plush toys. What better friend to take along as you go house to house collecting a pile of candy to be sorted and divided later?

These plush are sewn from Eco Spun felt, which is made of recycled plastic bottles. Their hand sewn faces ensure each one has a unique personality.

Candy corn measures 7 inches tall and has the traditional yellow/orange/white candy corn striping. The pirate ghost is 4 inches tall. They make a great addition to the Halloween pumpkin you’re putting together for your kid but want to make unique. They even make a great addition to your plush collection that you’ve been curating for years. Plush friends for life!
